Hanoi (VNA) - The Israel & Vietnam Folk Harmony programme isscheduled to take place at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi on August 25.

The event, which is being co-organised by the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam and aunit of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is set to feature a numberof amazing performances by artists from both Israel and Vietnam, reported TheVoice of Vietnam reported.

Among the artists set to take place, the Israeli folk dance troupe Hora Shemeshare to make their debut in Vietnam with a performance that combiningtraditional dancing with modern acts.

Hora Shemesh, a large dance troupe, is renowned for their colourful costumesand use of uplifting music. Through their art, they paint an interestingpicture of Israeli culture and life.

According to the Israeli Embassy in Hanoi, the main themes that run throughoutthe troupe’s performances are family love, the characters of the Bible, andhumour.

In addition to the show in Hanoi, Hora Shemesh is scheduled to have a secondshow in Lao Cai city on August 29.

In addition, the programme will also feature performances by several localartists and several well-known symphonies, including Cam Xuc Tay Nguyen(Central Highlands Cappriccio), Diem Xua (You My Deep Sorrow), and classicalmarch theme “Turkish March”.

Most notably, under the guidance of young conductor Dong Quang Vinh, thenation’s first all-bamboo ensemble Suc Song Moi, (New Vitality), are to performa symphonically orchestrated repertoire purely with bamboo music instruments.-VNA

The standout achievement came in the Sanda (combat) events, where Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hien claimed gold medals after impressive victories over opponents from China and Hong Kong (China), respectively. Thu Thuy edged out Zhang Xiaoyu in the 60kg category with a 2-1 win, while Ngoc Hien dominated her 56kg bout 2-0.
