Petrol price drops on global decline

Fuel distributors in Vietnam on April 18 reduced the retail price of 92-octane petrol by 1.7 percent to 23,640 VND (1.13 USD) per litre and trimmed prices of several other oil products, the second cut in less than 10 days.

The price of diesel will drop 0.47percent to 21,350 VND per litre as of 7pm, and kerosene will also ease0.93 percent to 21,400 VND a litre.

Global oil priceshave been easing since April 9 when Vietnam made its previous retailprice cut, the finance and the trade ministries said in a jointstatement.

Brent crude oil futures had fallen by around10 percent in April, but were trading up 1.14 USD at 98.83 USD perbarrel on April 18 morning after hitting a nine-month low of 96.75 USD.-VNA

Car sales increase sharply in June

Passenger cars accounted for the largest number of sales with 22,934 vehicles, up 14.6% over the previous month. Meanwhile, sales of commercial vehicles reached 8,782, down 2%, while specialised vehicle sales reached 261, up 23% over the previous month.
