Bangkok (VNA) – Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the youngest daughter of Thaksin Shinawatra, was elected new leader of the Pheu Thai party on October 27, the Thai PBS reported.
Replacing resigned Cholnan Srikaew, Paetongtarn, 37, was chosen during a meeting of executives and core members of the party in Bangkok.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is expected to attend the meeting this afternoon.
The meeting also selected Sa Kaew MP Sorawong Thienthong as new secretary general and Danuporn Punnakan as spokesman./.
