People from 151 countries will be able to enter the Philippines and stay for up to 30 days without needing a visa, beginning August.
The Philippines’ GMA News Online quoted the Bureau of Immigration (BI) as saying that the policy is part of the government’s efforts to attract more tourists to the country.
The country’s Ministry of Tourism has set to lure at least 10 million foreign holiday-makers by 2016.
According to the BI, in order to benefit from visa-free entry and stays, foreigners must have valid passports for at least six months after their intended period of stay in the Philippines, and must present a return ticket or a ticket to the next destination following their stay.-VNA
