Philippines Senate President steps down

The President of the Philippine Senate, Juan Miguel Zubiri on May 20 stepped down from his post.

Hanoi (VNA) - The President of the Philippine Senate, Juan Miguel Zubiri on May 20 stepped down from his post.

He told reporters after a meeting of the Senate that day that he did his best to accomplish tasks for the nation.

He said Senator Francis Escudero will replace him as the Senate's new president.

Zubiri assumed the senate presidency in July 2022./.
