The Philippine police will hand over two Chinese suspects in the killing of two officials of the Chinese Consulate Office in Cebu city to Chinese authorities as they enjoy diplomatic immunity.
Local police said on October 22 that the suspects are a woman named Guo Jing, who worked at the Chinese Consulate Office, and her husband Li Qing Liang, who shot Deputy Consul Sun Shen and female finance officer Li Hui dead during a birthday party at a restaurant in Cebu on October 21.
Meanwhile, Consul General Song Ronghua was wounded in the shooting.
Philippine Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose said his country will immediately turn the suspects over to the Chinese side to conduct legal process when the security team from Beijing arrives in Manila.
A Cebu police spokesperson cited investigators as saying that the attack could be triggered by a personal financial dispute.-VNA
