Pho Minh pagoda in Dong Hoi city, central province of Quang Binh received on April 10 saris as gift from Myanmar’s Sangharaja Silananda.
Of the eight saris, one is said to be that of the Lord Buddha and the rest are of holy monks. The treasures are purported relics left over after physical bodies of the Buddha and eminent monks were cremated.
Most Venerable Thich Tanh Nhiec, Head of the provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Board, said followers in the province hope that the treasures would bring peace and contentment to Quang Binh in particular and Vietnam in general./.
