A total of 210 photographs capturing the Vietnam’s 1954 Dien Bien Phu victory are being put on show at an exhibition in the northwestern province of Dien Bien on May 1-8 to celebrate the 60 th anniversary of the triumph.
As one of the nationwide activities marking the milestone, the event aims to give visitors an insight into the land and people in Dien Bien province, said Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Pham Van Hung.
It is also to fuel national pride among the youngsters and encourage them to contribute to the cause of the national construction and defence, Hung added.
Another 103 photos featuring the life and career of late General Vo Nguyen Giap - who played a key role in the country’s two resistance wars against the French and Americans - are also on display at the museum.-VNA
