A photo exhibition, themed “Metamorphosis of Japan after the War: 1945-1964”, opened in the central city of Da Nang on December 13.
More than 100 black-and-white photos taken by 11 Japanese renowned photographers more than 50 years ago and divided into three parts “the Aftermath of War”, “Between Tradition and Modernity” and “Towards a new Japan” will help visitors have an overview of the Japanese society after the war, and understand more about the country and its people in difficulties.
This is an international exhibition held for the first time in Southeast Asian and South Asian countries. It is re-fashioned from an exhibition named “Japan: A Self- Portrait Photographs 1945-1964”, which received much acclaim when being on display at the Setagaya Art Museum, the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art and other Japan’s famous venues.
The event will last until December 22.-VNA
