Photo exhibitions on Vietnam held in Germany

A photo exhibition on Vietnam opened in Wiesbasden city, Germany’s Hessen State, on Sept. 23 to mark the 35th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
A photo exhibition on Vietnam opened in Wiesbasden city, Germany’s Hessen State, on Sept. 23 to mark the 35th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

On display at the exhibition, entitled “Hessen meets Vietnam – Vietnam meets Hessen”, are photos taken by 50 young Hessen people during their visit to Vietnam in August 2010.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Hessen Culture Minister Dorothea Henzler and Vietnam Consul General in Frankfurt Nguyen Huu Trang praised the two countries’ activities of the Vietnam Year in Germany and the Germany Year in Vietnam, saying that such a programme will help closely link Vietnam and Hessen and their young people.

The exhibition will run through Oct. 29, 2010.

Earlier, on Sept. 21, a photo exhibition entitled “Face to Face” was held in Duesseldorf city of Germany ’s Nordrhein- Westfalen (NRW) State.

On display were 50 photos taken by Vietnamese children affected by Agent Orange/ dioxin under the Schmitz Stiftung Fund’s assistance.

NRW Minister of Health, Equalities, Care and Ageing Barbara Steffens said the exhibition is NRW State ’s activity to mark the Vietnam-Germany Year 2010./.
