Four talented musicians from Vietnam, Poland and Hungary will perform together for the first time in Vietnam this weekend.
TheFirst Hoa Binh Concert will feature Vietnamese and Hungarian pianistsNguyen Viet Trung and Monika Ruth Vida; and Polish cellist and violinstSylwia Spodobalska and Magdalena Skwierczynska.
The highlight ofthe show will be a piano duet by Trung and Vida, who will playConcertino for Two Pianos by Russian composer Dmitrij Shostakovich.
Vida then will play Liszt's Transcendental Etude, also known as Mazeppa.
"Itwill be a special treat for Vietnamese audiences, enjoying a Hungarianmusician playing a piece by a Hungarian composer," said Trung. "I hadthe chance to listen to pianist Vida playing the piece in the US and Ilike it very much," he said.
The pianists will each play solo inthe concert. Vida will play pieces by Franz Liszt and Maurice Ravel,while Trung will perform pieces by Beethoven; Chopin and Prokofiev.
Theconcert will include two other pieces, Winter in Buenos Aires by AstorPiazolla and Piano Trio No1 by Anton Arensky performed by Trung, cellistSpodobalska and violinist Skwierczynska.
The three musicians performed Piano Trio No1, winning the Grand Prix at the National Chamber Competition in Warsaw 2015.
Themusicians have won many prizes at music competitions in Polandincluding Spodobalska's Special Award at Klodzko Cello Competition andSkwierc-zynska's Grand Prize at the sixth Regional Violin StudentsReheasals in Grajewo.
Both are students of the Karol Szymanowski State School of Music in Warsaw.
PianistTrung, born in 1996 in Vietnam, grew up in Poland. He was one of eightyoung pianists invited from all over the world to perform at the JuniorAcademy Eppan in Italy in 2013.
He won second prize at theInternational Piano Competition Chopin for the Youngest in 2010 and theGrand Prix at the national piano competition in Kracow in 2014.
TheFirst Hoa Binh Concert will be held in Hanoi on July 3 and in HCM Cityon July 5. It is organised by the Vietnam Performing Arts Centre andsponsored by Hoa Binh Beer & Beverages.
"The concert will bea spectacular event that will enchant Vietnamese youth," said NguyenVan Than, representing the sponsors at the press conference held on July1. "We want to encourage Vietnamese youth in general and students inparticular to get involved in chamber music."
The concert beginsat 8pm at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, 77 Hao Nam street,Hanoi. More than 700 tickets have given free to music lovers in thecapital city. In HCM City, the concert will begin at 8pm at the HCM CityMusic Conservatory, 112 Nguyen Du street, District 1.-VNA
