An aircraft operated by the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) has crashed into Sentani Lake in Indonesia’s Papua province, killing its pilot, local police said on May 12.

Jakarta (VNA)– An aircraft operated by the Mission AviationFellowship (MAF) has crashed into Sentani Lake in Indonesia’s Papuaprovince, killing its pilot, local police said on May 12.

The accident occurredat about 6:27 on May 12, about two minutes after takeoff, when the plane wascarrying food supplies from Sentani to Tolikara district, Jayapura chief policeVictor Dean Makboan said.

Accordingto the Silas Papare TNI air base, the body of the pilot recovered from the aircraft,13 metres below the lake./.
