Poultry meat export signals recovery: department

Poultry meat export has shown signs of bouncing back since the beginning of 2023, according to the Department of Livestock Husbandry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Hanoi (VNA) – Poultry meatexport has shown signs of bouncing back since the beginning of 2023, accordingto the Department of Livestock Husbandry under the Ministry of Agriculture andRural Development.

The department said Vietnam shippedover 1.6 million USD worth of poultry meat abroad in February, doubling thatin January and higher than the 86,500 USD in revenue posted in the same periodof 2022.

The Republic of Korea (RoK) was thebiggest importer of poultry meat, accounting for 28.6%, followed by Malaysia24.8%.

Meanwhile, poultry egg exports inFebruary were estimated at more than 501,500 USD, over doubling the value recorded ayear earlier.

The departmentsaid poultry farming developed stably in the first quarter of 2023, with apopulation of about 551.4 million, 563,200 tonnes of meat, and 4.7 billioneggs, respectively increasing 2.4%, 4.2%, and 4.5% year on year.

Last year, the country exportednearly 3.77 million USD worth of poultry meat, falling sharply from the 20.7million USD in 2021, statistics show./.

Vung Tau - Con Dao high-speed ferry reoperated

The high-speed ferry service connecting Vung Tau city and Con Dao island in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau and vice versa was resumed on February 7 by Phu Quoc Express JSC after a 5-month suspension.
