President Vo Van Thuong attended an art programme in Ho Chi Minh City on July 9 to commemorate General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Le Duan on the occasion of the late leader’s 37th death anniversary (July 10, 1986-2023).

HCM City (VNA) – President Vo Van Thuong attendedan art programme in Ho Chi Minh City on July 9 to commemorate General Secretaryof the Communist Party of Vietnam Le Duan on the occasion of the late leader’s37th death anniversary (July 10, 1986-2023).

Le Duan, real name Le Van Nhuan, was born on April 7, 1907in Bich La village, Trieu Dong commune, Quang Tri province’s Trieu Phongdistrict. He was the Party’s First Secretary and then GeneralSecretary from 1960 to 1986.

The programme is a chance for audience to pay tribute to an outstanding Party leader, and get a deeper insight of his life and revolutionarycareer as well as the sentiments that people in the south and his homelandQuang Tri province have towards the leader.

The programme featured 15 songs and dances performed by Bong Sen(Lotus) Traditional Music and Dance Theatre, Military Zone 7 Art Troupe andrenowned singers including Quoc Hung and Nguyen Huong Giang.

HCM City to celebrate national reunification with record-breaking drone show

At 8:45 pm on April 30, all 10,500 drones will take to the sky, followed by a 15-minute fireworks display across 30 city locations at 9 pm., creating a festive and dazzling atmosphere, according to Nguyen Tat Kiet, head of the Performing Arts Division under the municipal Department of Culture and Sports.
