Hanoi (VNA) – The President has issued Decision 356/QD-CTN bestowing the State title of People’s Artisan to 62 performers of folk arts to honour their outstanding contribution to preserving and developing the country’s intangible cultural heritage.
This is the first time the title of People’s Artisan has been presented to folk art performers.
Hanoi has the most folk artists honoured this time – seven, while Ho Chi Minh City has six.
The President also conferred the title posthumously to four Emeritus Artisans who had passed away.
Meanwhile, 561 other folk artists were honoured with the title Emeritus Artisans and nine late folk artists were granted the title posthumously.
