President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has wished that the entire society will join hands to maintain, preserve and uphold the sustainable values of Cuc Phuong National Park for later generations.

Hanoi (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has wished that theentire society would join hands to maintain, preserve and uphold the sustainablevalues of Cuc Phuong National Park for later generations.

Inhis letter recently sent to the park on the occasion of its 60th anniversary,President Phuc recalled that even in the struggle against foreign invaders sixdecades ago, the Government, with its strategic and contemporary vision, issueda decision naming Cuc Phuong as the first national park which is alsoone of the earliest-established national parks in the world.

Hehailed generations of officials, cadres and workers of the park for standingunited and overcoming difficulties to maintain and uphold values of forest ecosystem’snatural resources and biodiversity.

CucPhuong National Park has long been a reliable destination for the conservationof biodiversity and genes of endangered and rare species of flora and fauna inparticular. Known as a "school in the middle of thick forest" of generationsof students in the country and the world, this place is also dubbed as a "Capitalof Nature Conservation" of Vietnam. In consecutive years from 2019 to2022, the park won the World Travel Award in the category of "Asia'sLeading National Park".

Theleader also praised the active support and important contributions of thepolitical system at all levels and local communities in the buffer zone of NinhBinh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces, foreign researchers and experts, developmentpartners, volunteers and millions of tourists around the world in the cause of sustainableprotection and development of the “jewel” Cuc Phuong National Park.

Hewished that the Vietnamese forestry sector, together with officials, cadres andstaff of the park, would build on their past achievements and follow Uncle Ho’steaching "Forest is gold, if we know how to conserve and manage it well, itwill be very valuable".

The Party committees, local authorities andpeople from walks of life were urged to create favourable conditions for thesector to fulfill its assigned tasks./.

Phuc Son Group Chairman sentenced to 30 years in prison in major corruption trial

Nguyen Van Hau, Chairman and CEO of Phuc Son Group, was charged with giving bribes and violating bidding and accounting regulations, causing serious consequences. He received a combined jail sentence of 30 years - 14 years for bribery, nine years for the bidding violation, and seven years for accounting irregularities.
