Two press centres that will accommodate journalists covering the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi opened in Hanoi on September 30.
According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, Pham Quoc Ban, the press centres are located at the Hanoi Post Office, No. 75 Dinh Tien Hoang Street and My Dinh National Sports Complex in Tu Liem district.
The press centres, which are equipped with computers and high-speed internet connections, will serve domestic and foreign reporters from 7 am to 11 pm during the ten days of celebrations, he said, adding that reporters will also be provided with information, books, newspapers and documents on Thang Long-Hanoi.
Hanoi has arranged for volunteers to assist the journalists, especially foreigners, he said.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Do Quy Doan presented a number of publications on 1,000-year-old Thang Long-Hanoi to the press centres./.
