Hanoi (VNA) – The most outstanding works of the annual press photography contest titled “Khoanh Khac Vang” (Golden Moment) were awarded at a ceremony in Hanoi on September 15.

The contest, in its fourth edition, was launched by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. It was co-sponsored by the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VietinBank) and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam).

From July 5 when the contest was launched through August 31, the organising board received 6,343 entries from 624 photographers nationwide.

The gold medal was presented to a photo report entitled “Sau con lu du” (After a fierce flood) by Pham Bang from the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang.

The jury also handed over four silver and six bronze medals, and 11 consolidating prizes to photos and group of photos.

The work entitled “Gian khoan Tam Dao 05-Cong trinh ngang tam the gioi” (Tam Dao 05 Oil-rig – a world-class project) by Le Manh Linh, Le Quang Nhut and Doan Manh Duong received the “Best work on oil and gas” prize of PetroVietnam.

As many as 71 best photos selected from the contest are being displayed at the VNA’s headquarters at 5 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hanoi. The exhibition will run through September 20.

Speaking at the award ceremony, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi said the contest aims to gather press photos that vividly reflect memorable moments and events across the country.

Through the contest, the VNA hopes to contribute to improving the quality of Vietnamese journalism photos, he said.

Vu Quoc Khanh, head of the contest jury, said this year’s entries touch upon all aspects of the social life, mirror Vietnam’s achievements in national construction and defence, and bring to focus natural disaster impacts and environmental issues.-VNA

Vietnam drawn with hosts Thailand at ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026

The ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026 is scheduled to take place from April 5 to 11 at the Nonthaburi Provincial Gymnasium in Thailand. The group stage matches will run from April 5 to 7, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals on April 9. The final is set for April 11.

Tam Chuc complex in Ninh Binh granted special national relic status

Ninh Binh will work closely with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, experts, businesses and local communities to ensure sustainable preservation and restoration of the complex. The province also plans to gradually prepare a nomination dossier for “Tam Chuc Complex – Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve” to seek UNESCO World Heritage recognition.
