Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is setto have a dialogue with workers of the hi-tech industries in Ho Chi Minh Cityon May 5.

This event will focus on businesses andlocalities’ policies towards the hi-tech human resources, workers’ proposals tothe Government, and measures to help turn normal workers into those withhi-tech skills.

It will be a forum for the Government leader tolearn about opinions and aspirations of the contingent of skilled workers, aswell as their contributions to the development of businesses, localities andthe country.

The dialogue is meant to reiterate theGovernment, employers and society’s attention to workers, along with efforts toimprove the quality of human resources, especially skilled manpower, to meetdevelopment requirements.

President of the Vietnam General Confederationof Labour Bui Van Cuong said workers with hi-tech skills are a driving force ofnational development amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution since they willhave opportunities to earn more and contribute more to the country.

He added the dialogue between the Governmentleader and hi-tech workers will help fuel technology-based economic development,instead of growth relying on natural resources or cheap labour.-VNA
