June saw a record-breaking 24,400 new business registrations, a 61% increase year-on-year and double the average monthly figure from 2021 to 2024. In July, another 16,500 enterprises were established, pushing the total number of new firms in the first seven months of 2025 to 107,700, an 11% rise compared to the same period last year.
After three months of implementing Resolution 68, Vietnam's private economic sector has seen many positive changes, with the establishment of over 24,000 new businesses in June and more than 16,000 in July. This brought the total number of newly established enterprises in the first seven months of 2025 to nearly 108,000.
Lawmakers are expected to discuss a draft Law on Atomic Energy (revised) and draft resolutions on mechanisms and policies for private economic development, and on a number of special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in law making and enforcement on May 15
Party General Secretary To Lam stressed that changes in mindsets and perceptions are essential to transform policies and actions towards the private economic sector, adding it is a must to continue eliminating all misconceptions and prejudices about this sector.
A national steering committee for building a private economic development project will be established with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh as its head.
