Two young pianists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music won a second and a third prize at the 4 th Mozart International Piano Competition in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 20 – 24, according to Nhan Dan (People) daily.
Dang Thai Vu, born in 2005, secured the second place in group D for those between 7 and 9 years old.
Meanwhile, 13-year-old Nguyen Ba Duy Anh ranked third in group B, categorising participants aging from 13 to 17. Anh is the youngest contestant in this group.
The four-member panel praised Vietnamese pianists for their skills and understanding of musical works that they played.
This is the third time Vietnam has attended the competition. Last year, a contestant from the country won the first prize in group D.-VNA
