Quang Binh’s border guards donate medical supplies to Lao counterparts

The Border Guard Command of the central province of Quang Binh on November 23 presented medical supplies and equipment worth 400 million VND (over 17,000 USD) to their counterparts in the Lao border province of Khammouane to support them in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Quang Binh (VNA) – The Border GuardCommand of the central province of Quang Binh on November 23 presentedmedical supplies and equipment worth 400 million VND (over 17,000 USD) to their counterparts in the Lao borderprovince of Khammouane to support them in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Complicateddevelopments of the COVID-19 pandemic in recent times have affected jointpatrols between the two border forces.

Overcomingdifficulties and challenges, the border forces of the two provinces have taken many measures andclosely coordinated to firmly protect national sovereignty and border security.  The two sidesalso have also actively popularised and educated their people on the Vietnam-Laosspecial friendship and solidarity and border law. They also strictly abide byand implement legal documents on the Vietnam - Laos border that the governmentsof the two countries had signed.

During the hand-overceremony, the two forces discussed the political-security situation, and coordination in borderprotection as well as sharing experience in the fight againstCOVID-19.

The donation has contributedto strengthening the special solidarity between the border guards of QuangBinh  and Khammouane, thus jointly building a borderline of friendship, peace, stability, cooperation and development between the two countries.

The two sides will enhance bilateral patrols, coordination in fightingand preventing crimes, especially drug-related crimes, illegal cross-bordertravel in order to improve the effectiveness of COVID-19 prevention andcontrol, and firmly protect the Vietnam-Laos shared borderline./.

Resettlement, site clearance for Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear plant gets underway

According to the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, the resettlement and site clearance project carries a total investment of about 6.7 trillion VND (about 255 million USD). Of the total, approximately 5.28 trillion VND is earmarked for compensation and site clearance, around 1.15 trillion VND for construction and equipment, and nearly 287 billion VND for project management, consultancy, other expenses and contingencies.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways to launch first international direct flight on March 29
