Businesses in the northern province of Quang Ninh would greatly benefit if they are able to penetrate the Dubai market, according to a seminar held in the locality on July 9.

The seminar was co-organised by the QuangNinh Investment Promotion and Support Board and Dubai-based VchoiceGoods and Service Export Promotion Company of Vietnam .

According to Tran Dinh Thien, Director of the Vietnam Institute ofEconomics, Dubai offers good opportunities not only for Quang Ninhbusinesses but also to bring international investors and tourists toVietnam.

Dubai, one of seven emirates that make up theUnited Arab Emirates , is known as the gateway to the Middle East,Southwest Asia and Africa.

Dubai is the world’s mostattractive duty-free market. Companies only pay a very low rate ofimport tax, ranging from 0-5 percent.

At the seminar,economists advised Vietnamese businesses on how to approach the Dubaimarket through studying their rivals, building brand names and seekingsupport from the Vietnamese business community in Dubai.

They said that Quang Ninh has many goods and services suitable for themarket, especially Ha Long Bay tourism, farm produce and aquaticproducts.-VNA

Fuel taxes cut to 0% from April 16

Accordingly, the environmental protection tax on petrol (excluding ethanol), diesel, kerosene, mazut, and aviation fuel has been cut to 0 VND per litre. These products are also exempt from VAT declaration and payment, while still eligible for input VAT credit.
