A red-carpet welcome ceremony was held at Merdeka Palace - the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on March 10 for General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly.
This is the first visit to Vietnam by a Kyrgyz prime minister since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. The trip is expected to develop the Vietnam – Kyrgyzstan friendship and cooperation in a more substantive and effective manner across all sectors.
President To Lam on August 1 hosted a red-carpet welcome ceremony for President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta who is paying a state visit to Vietnam from July 31 to August 3.
