The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,138 VND per USD on December 18, down 5 VND from the previous day.

- The State Bank of Vietnam set the dailyreference exchange rate at 23,138 VND per USD on December 18, down 5 VND from the previous day.

With the currenttrading band of  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banksduring the day is 23,832 VND/USD and the floor rate, 22,444 VND/USD.

The opening hour ratesat most commercial banks remained stable.

At 8:30 am,Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,010 VND/USD and the selling rate at23,220 VND/USD, unchanged from December 17.

BIDV also kept bothrates unchanged at 23,040 VND/USD (buying) and 23,220 VND/USD (selling).

During the week fromDecember 14 to December 18, the daily referenceexchange rate fluctuated variably but ended the week down 5 VND from the rate at the week’s beginning.

 The rates listed at most commercial banksstayed stable throughout the week./.

Banks selling mortgaged assets to recover bad debts

Banks' credit up 11.3% in HCM City in 2024
