Reference exchange rate goes down at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 22,458 VND/USD on March 5, down 10 VND from the rate on the last day of the previous week (March 2).

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 22,458 VND/USD on March 5, down 10 VND from the rate on the last day of the previous week (March 2).

With the current trading band of  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,131 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,787 VND/USD.  

The opening hour rates at major commercial banks stayed stable.

Vietcombank and Vietinbank maintained the same rates as on March 2. The buying rate at Vietcombank stood at 22,720 VND/USD and the selling rate 22,790 VND/USD. Meanwhile Vietinbank is buying the green back at 22,676 VND/USD and selling at 22,746 VND/USD.

The rates at BIDV went up by 5 VND, to 22,725 VND/USD (buying) and 22,795 VND/USD (selling).-VNA
