Reference exchange rate up 44 VND on August 25

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,898 VND/USD on August 25, up 44 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily referenceexchange rate at 23,898 VND/USD on August 25, up 44 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable forcommercial banks during the day is 25,274 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,884VND/USD.

At commercial banks, the opening-hour rates continued the upward trend.

At 8:30 am, BIDV listed the rates at 23,845 VND/USD (buying) and 24,145 VND/USD(selling), both up 5 VND from the end of August 24.

Meanwhile, Vietcombank kept both rates unchanged at 23,800 VND/USD (buying) and24,170 VND/USD (selling).

During the week from August 21 to 25, the daily reference exchange rate was downon the first two days of the week and adjusted up on three following days./.

Can Tho, Guangxi seek collaboration in logistics, supply chains

Chinese investors now back 35 projects in Can Tho with registered capital of nearly 1.2 billion USD. In the first seven months of 2026, Can Tho’s exports to China hit 77.5 million USD, while imports stood at 64.7 million USD. Key exports included rice, seafood, farm produce, processed agricultural products and apparel while main imports comprised agricultural chemicals, veterinary medicines, fertilisers, chemicals, fabrics and other materials and inputs.

Vietnam, Russia move to boost financial cooperation

On bilateral economic, trade and investment ties, Tuan said two-way trade hit 3.24 billion USD in the first seven months of 2026, up 12% from a year earlier. Vietnam’s exports to Russia totaled 1.33 billion USD, while imports amounted to 1.91 billion USD.

Ho Chi Minh City seeks to make seaports new growth driver

To maximise its seaport advantages, Ho Chi Minh City is developing smart and green ports while promoting clean energy, lower emissions and sustainable supply chains. Vietnam promotes finance for green agriculture

Over the past five years, Vietnam has developed and gradually implemented a green finance system to support low-emission and environmentally friendly production, including agriculture.
