Regional women’s football: Vietnam wins Singaporean

Vietnam trounced Singapore 9-1 in the opening match of the Southeast Asia Women’s Football Championship (SAWFC) in Laos.
Vietnam trounced Singapore 9-1 in the opening match of the SoutheastAsia Women’s Football Championship (SAWFC) in Laos.

Of the goals, striker Nguyen Thi Hoa contributed four. The team’scoach Tran Van Phat said that this was an important win to the team.

SAWFC is being held in Laos by the ASEAN FootballFederation (AFF) in cooperation with the Lao Football Federation (LFF)from Oct. 16-25, attracting the participation of women’s football teamsfrom Indonesia , Singapore , Laos , Thailand , Myanmar , Malaysia ,the Philippines and Vietnam .

The event aimsto maintain the development of women’s football movements in the regionas the category will not be included in the 26 th SEAGames inIndonesia in November./.

The festival featured more than 20 booths offering traditional Vietnamese dishes, including "pho" and spring rolls, alongside activities promoting Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditonal long dress). One of the highlights was the presentation of complimentary Ao Dai to Czech residents and international visitors.
