Remote sensing photo exhibition makes debut

An exhibition of remote sensing photo named “Eye of the Sky” opened in Hanoi May 4, as part of the ASEAN-EU Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012 (YoSTI 2012).
An exhibition of remote sensing photo named “Eye of the Sky” opened in Hanoi May 4, as part of the ASEAN-EU Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012 (YoSTI 2012).

Speaking at the opening, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Viet Thanh said the event is an example of the results of cooperative activities between ASEAN and Europe in scientific study and technology.

Thanh said he hopes the event will contribute to raising awareness of the community on ecological and environmental issues.

The 30 high resolution satellite photos on display depict ecosystems in several areas in Europe and Southeast Asia such as the Danube River, the land bordering the Mediterranean Sea, Ha Long Bay of Vietnam, tropical forests in Southeast Asia and the Mekong River .

Jointly organised by the National Department of Science and Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the exhibition run until May 20.-VNA
