A series of cultural activities took place in Hanoi’s Old Quarter on January 28 that recreated traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet) customs.
These celebrations were organized as part of the Vietnamese Tet – Old Quarter Tet 2024, a collaborative effort between the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter.
The festivities encompassed various traditional rituals, including a procession to present offerings at the Đình communal house gate, a ceremony to declare the Thanh Hoang and pay homage to the Craft Ancestors, and a ceremony of erecting a bamboo pole, known as “cây nêu” in Vietnamese.
The event is scheduled to run until February 28./.
