Road safety committee holds first-aid course in Hanoi

The National Committee for Road Safety in coordination with the Red Cross, social forum Otofun and Ford Vietnam organised an event in Hanoi February 8 giving first aid training for taxi drivers and fans of adventure tourism.

Experts from theInternational Red Cross provided participants with the basic skillsnecessary to handle common situations such as unconsciousness, fracturesand bleeding so that they can give proper first aid to victims oftransport accidents.

According to the committee’sVice Chairman Khuat Viet Hung, the Hanoi even will pave the way forsimilar training models to be conducted in Hai Phong, Nghe An and Ho ChiMinh City later this year.

The NationalCommittee for Road Safety intends to produce documentaries and promotecampaigns to raise awareness of life-saving medical interventions.-VNA

Public order crime drops 22.55% in first half

In the field of economic crime, 2,096 cases involving 4,194 suspects were prosecuted in the first half. For corruption and position-related crimes, 370 cases and 1,042 suspects were brought to trial. Meanwhile, police uncovered 11,687 drug-related cases involving 22,863 individuals.

The programme prioritises 286 remote border communes, wards and special areas, where coordination between local youth units is seen as crucial. Volunteers are deployed across three main functions: supporting officials with administrative procedures, helping people and businesses submit online applications and payments, and offering digital training through creative models such as mobile tech clinics and grassroots tech groups.
