Speaker of the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s National Assembly Chung Ui Hwa is paying an official visit to Laos from January 21-24, at an invitation of his Lao counterpart Pany Yathotou.
During their January 22 talks, the top legislators shared experience in fulfilling legislative tasks and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
Both expressed their satisfaction with the increasing development of the bilateral relations. The RoK is now an important development partner of Laos . With 291 projects totaling 756 million USD, it is the fourth largest foreign investor in the Southeast Asian country.
The two sides agreed to continue their information and experience sharing and coordinate in supervising the implementation of agreements signed between the two governments.
Pany Yathotou proposed the RoK side help develop human resources for the Lao NA as well as encouraging its investors and tourists to come to Laos.
She suggested both sides continue close collaboration at regional and international forums for their mutual benefit as well as for peace, friendship, cooperation and development in the region and the world.-VNA
