The Directorate General Ship, under Indonesia’s Ministry of Transporthas signed with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) arecord of discussion (ROD) on developing boat safety and protecting themarine environment in Indonesia.
The RoKgovernment-funded 1.3 million USD project will be carried out over threeyears with the goal of providing advice to improve Indonesia’s currentlaws relating to maritime safety and environment.
The project will also support the improvement of education and trainingsystems on maritime safety and environment and provide equipment forboat surveillance and inspection.
Representative ofthe KOICA Kim Byung Gwan said the RoK Government hopes the project willboost the two countries’ cooperation in the sea and improve Indonesianpeople and agencies’ capacity in boat safety and environmentalprotection.-VNA
