China and Russia held the fifth round of strategic security negotiations in Moscow on January 24 to enhance joint efforts to strengthen national, regional and international security.
The Chinese delegation, led by Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo, is on a visit to Russia at the invitation of the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev.
During the talks, both parties exchanged views on major international issues and the further development of their bilateral strategic partnership.
Both agreed that their closer cooperation on global issues has helped to maintain regional and world peace, safety and stability.
The two countries acknowledged that in order to enhance strategic mutual trust and improve the global security situation, a development plan for Chinese-Russian relations for the next 10 years with a strategic and comprehensive perspective should be created.
The two sides also agreed that in the long run, the strategic partnership must adhere to the principles of mutual trust, two-way cooperation and friendship.
