Samsung launches Vietnam traffic map

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has launched the mobile application "VOV ban do giao thong (VOV traffic map)" with radio The Voice of Vietnam (VOV)’s Traffic Channel to reduce traffic jams.
Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has launched the mobile application "VOV bando giao thong (VOV traffic map)" with radio The Voice of Vietnam(VOV)’s Traffic Channel to reduce traffic jams.

Theapplication will provide real-time traffic information and displaypoints of traffic congestion in the routes of users throughout thecountry.

It will also suggest route choices for users to avoidtraffic jams. Commuters will be able to access traffic camera systems tosee the current traffic conditions, so they can make an informeddecision about the traffic route that will be most suitable for them.

Also, photos from their smartphones and tablets can be sent directly to the traffic channel.

The application can be downloaded from Samsung Apps or the Google Play Store.

At the moment, the application will provide updates on traffic only inHanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected to expand to allcities and provinces in the country by 2015.

At the launch ofthe mobile application, Samsung Deputy General Director Nguyen Van Daosaid the application will be compatible with Samsung smartphones andtablets at first, and it will then be available on all smartphones withan Android operating system.

The application is a result of theefforts of the channel to help commuters and also dovetails withSamsung's strategy to apply technology to social issues.-VNA
