SEA Games: Karate, wrestling bring Vietnam more gold

Karate artist Nguyen Hoang Ngan grabbed a gold medal afteran overwhelming victory over Syafrudin Yulianti of Indonesia inthe final of the women’s singles kata event.

This is thefifth gold medal she has won at the region’s biggest sport eventsthroughout her career. Ngan claimed three kata single title in 2003,2007 and 2009, and one kata team title in 2009.

She had to withdraw from competition for three years due to a knee injury, and underwent an operation last December .

Ngan’s victory at the 27 th SEA Games testifies to her great efforts over the past year .

Meanwhile, Vu Thi Hang beat Sriprapa of Thailand 7-0 to bring home another gold medal in women’s wrestling at 48 kg.

In the 74kg men’s wrestling final, Can Tat Du overcame an injury earlier to record a 7-0 win over a Thai wrestler.

His gold medal is the 10th gold medal of the Vietnamese wrestling team at this tournament, not to mention two bronzes.-VNA

From Berlin, the Vietnamese guitar fosters cultural connections to global community

This year, 30 contestants from 15 countries entered the competition, with five finalists set to compete on October 10 at Ballhaus Prinzenallee in Berlin. The programme also includes a gala concert, masterclasses and a guitar exhibition. Hanoi launches project to build cultural industry hub in Old Quarter

The project, covering about 3,862sqm. at 17 Nguyen Thien Thuat and 40 Thanh Ha, includes around 2,317sqm. of construction area. Over 2,000 people to perform Thai Xoe dance in Lao Cai in October
