The Japanese ship Fuji Maru anchored at Saigon Port in Ho Chi Minh City on Dec. 4, bringing ashore 329 young people from Southeast Asian nations and Japan.
This is the 11 th consecutive time a vessel under the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP), sponsored by the Japanese Government, has arrived in Vietnam .
At the welcoming ceremony at Saigon Port, Phan Van Mai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, expressed his hope that the programme will further strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnamese youths and their peers from the ASEAN family and Japan.
The delegates paid a courtesy visit to the Ho Chi Minh City leaders and had an exchange with young local people on the same day.
During their four-day visit, the delegates will have opportunities to explore the beauty of the country and people of Vietnam through exciting trips and social activities./.
