The 2023 Southeast Asia Report – Technology in Education was launched in Hanoi on May 24 by UNESCO and the Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences in partnership with the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) and the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report Team based in UNESCO.

While there are nearly 200,000 Vietnamese students abroad at present, about 22,000 foreigners are studying in the Southeast Asian country.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of the Ministry of Education and Training’s Quality Control Department, highlighted how it is important for Vietnam to participate in education assessment programmes after the country achieved high results in the 2019 Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM) report.
