Seas and islands spur tourism development

Sea and island tours are defined as a breakthrough to spur sea-based economy, and as a way to defend national sovereignty.

A coastline of over 3,000 kilometers is an advantage drawing a large number of tourists to Vietnam. Sea and island tours are accounting for around 70 percent of the country’s tourism activities and these are defined as a breakthrough to spur sea-based economy, and as a way to defend national sovereignty.

Vietnam has 2,770 near-shore islands and its 125 beaches and bays are serving tourism.

More than 1, 400 accommodations have been developed along the coastal areas for sea and island vacationers.
Under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s tourism development master plan to 2020, the country has five key tourism zones relating to seas and islands among the total seven ones.

To develop the country’s sea tourism in a sustainable manner bearing its own trademark, it is necessary to promote culture of each locality making it as a signature tourist draw to make visitors come back./.
