Hanoi (VNA) – Foreign media reported that a resident on the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion, who found a wing fragment from the flight MH370 last year, had come across a second possible piece from the missing plane.

They quoted Johnny Begue as saying he found the debris while cleaning a beach on March 3 and handed it over to police immediately.

According to the man, the object measures about 40 cm long by 20 cm wide with a blue mark on the surface and grey underneath.

Another piece of debris that could have come from the missing MH370 flight was found last month in Mozambique, 2,100km west of Reunion Island. It has been transferred to Australia for examination.

Malaysian Airline Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with a total of 239 passengers and crew on board.

The international team investigating the missing flight plans to issue a statement on the cause of the incident on March 8, the second anniversary of the plane's disappearance, in accordance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

Australian, Malaysian and Chinese authorities will meet up in June to plan future search activities.-VNA
