(Source: nationmultimedia.com) Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – The 2nd Thai–Myanmar Friendship Bridge across theMoei River, linking Mae Sot district in Thailand’s Tak province and Myawaddy inMyanmar has been open to traffic.
Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San SuuKyi presided over the opening ceremony for the friendship bridge and discussedair pollution problems.
PM Prayut and Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi praised the success ofthe project for facilitating connectivity between the two countries, followingthe original Thai-Myanmar friendship bridge built in 1997.
The premier also inspected the progress of the construction of a border controlbuilding and discussed with the Myanmar leader ways to tackle smog and PM2.5. –NNT/VNA
