Serbia wishes to strengthen relations with ASEAN, especially join its Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
Serbian Assistant Foreign Minister Goran Aleksic made the statement during his visit to ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 19.
At the reception for the Serbian diplomat, Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs A.K.P. Mochtan spoke highly of his visit, saying it manifests the country’s commitments to intensifying cooperation with the regional bloc as well as its member states.
He affirmed the secretariat is willing to help push up the relations between Serbia and ASEAN in the future.
The two sides exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international issues of common concern, agreeing to seek ways to boost cooperation in economics, trade and investment while enhancing cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two sides’ peoples.-VNA
