The Saigon Invest Group (SGI) will again give generously to promote the Vietnamese martial art, Vovinam, this year to the tune of 150,000 USD.
An agreement to this affect was signed in Hanoi on Mar. 29 between the SGI, the World Federation of Vovinam and the Vietnam Federation of Vovinam.
The donation will support Vovinam operations at the France-Vietnam Vovinam Tournament in France, the Asian Vovinam Championships in Iran and many other tournaments in Vietnam in 2010.
In 2009, SGI provided the World Federation of Vovinam and the Vietnam Federation of Vovinam with 100,000 USD, which helped organised tours for martial artists and coaches for training and exchanges.
At the signing ceremony, Dang Thanh Tam, SGI President and Deputy President of World Federation of Vovinam, was presented with a certificate of merit and an insignia by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for his contributions to the success of the first World Vovinam Championships, which were held in Vietnam in late July./.
