Singaporean and Thai senior officials discussed ways to deepen cooperation in tourism, infrastructure and trade facilitation at the 3 rd Singapore-Thailand Enhanced Economic Relationship Ministerial Meeting on October 14.
The meeting was co-chaired by Singaporean Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang and Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan.
The two sides noted good progress in the fields of information technology, telecommunication, food and agriculture, the Singaporean ministry said in a statement.
According to official data, bilateral trade between Singapore and Thailand saw a year-on-year increase of 0.8 percent to hit 25.8 billion USD last year.
Thailand was Singapore’s 10th largest trade partner in 2012, while Singapore was Thailand's 7th largest.
According to the Bank of Thailand, Singapore was also the 2 nd largest investor in the country last year, with aggregated foreign direct investment worth 24.1 billion USD.-VNA
