Singapore has become the most dynamic economy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) after it scored 61.9 points in t he Grant Thornton Global Dynamism Index (GDI) 2013.
It was followed by Malaysia , 59.5 points, and Thailand , 56.4 points, Grant Thornton International said on September 16.
Now in its second year, the GDI ranks 60 largest economies in the world regarding their dynamism, based on economic and business survey data, SJ Grant Thornton, a member of the world leading insurance, tax and consulting firm, Grant Thornton International, said in a statement.
The GDI provides an overview of the dynamism of the economies and also ranks economies and regions in five separate categories, including business environment, prosperity and growth, science and technology, labour and human resources, and financial environment.
By analysing the changes of each economy since the recovery from the 2008-09 economic recession, the index uncovers the best environments for trade activities.-VNA
