Singaporean, Malaysian police crack illegal gamble group

Singaporean and Malaysian police forces arrested 43 suspects for unlawful remote gambling in a recent joint operation, the Singaporean police said on July 2.

Hanoi (VNA) - Singaporean and Malaysian police forces arrested 43 suspects for unlawful remote gambling in a recent joint operation, the Singaporean police said on July 2.

During the joint operation conducted from June 30 to July 2, the Singaporean police detained 37 men and two women. Malaysian officers arrested another four Singaporean men.

The Singaporean police issued prohibition of disposal orders for seven properties with an estimated value of over 10.7 million SGD (7.9 million USD).

They also seized cash, jewelery, luxury watches, and more than 40 bank accounts with a total estimated value of nearly 4 million SGD.

The police vowed to work closely with foreign counterparts to counter transnational organised crime./.
