Singapore’s President Tony Tan Keng Yam will make a State visit to Myanmar from April 1-5 at the invitation of his Myanmar counterpart, U Thein Sein.
A press statement issued on March 31 by Singapore ’s Foreign Ministry adds that President Tan will visit Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay and Yangon.
He will call on President Thein Sein and meet the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Thura U Shwe Mann.
According to Singapore’s Foreign Ministry, President Tan’s five-day visit marks the deepening relations between Singapore and Myanmar, which established their diplomatic ties in 1966.-VNA
