Six Thai provinces have been picked out to become green urban farming areas under a project recently launched by the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to boost eco-friendly production.

They include provinces of Chieang Mai, Nong Khai, Si Sa Ket,Chanthaburi, Phatthalung and Ratchaburi where locals will learn moreabout greenhouse gas, organic farming, water and soil preservation,eco-tourism, agriculture research and development.

Withfocuses on cultivation, animal husbandry and fisheries, the project isin line with a 2014-2016 strategy on organic farming development thatsets to turn Thailand into a hub of organic production, trade andconsumption.

The activity is also in response to the 2012-2016national socio-economic development scheme which looks to sustainableenvironmental management./.

Indian airline launches direct Mumbai–Hanoi route

The new route operates four flights a week and is the first direct Mumbai–Hanoi service operated by an Indian airline. Hanoi has become Akasa Air’s seventh international destination and its second destination in Southeast Asia, after Phuket, Thailand.

Indonesia breaks ground on waste-to-energy plant

The project is the second PSEL facility undertaken by investment management agency Danantara Indonesia, following the PSEL project in Bali, construction of which began in July. It is part of the environmentally friendly waste treatment programme under Presidential Decree No. 109/2025.
