PM takes bold stance against abuse of social housing policies

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasised that no organisations or individuals would be allowed to exploit the Party and State's preferential social housing policies for personal gain, while chairing a teleconference on June 2 to review the progress of the National Assembly’s Resolution on piloting several special policies and mechanisms for social housing development.

The bill contains three articles, focusing on two major policies – one to relax the conditions for acquiring Vietnamese nationality, aiming to facilitate cases where an individual has a biological father, mother, paternal or maternal grandparents who are Vietnamese citizens; as well as investors, scientists, and foreign experts who wish to acquire Vietnamese nationality.

By 2030, localities nationwide tasked with completing 271,161 social housing units

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed Decision No. 444, dated February 27, 2025, setting targets for the completion of social housing by 2025 and in the following years up to 2030. Accordingly, by 2030, localities nationwide are tasked with completing 271,161 social housing units to help achieve the goal of building at least one million affordable social housing apartments for low-income earners and industrial park workers during the 2021–2030 period.
