Speaking at the 8 th session of the South Africa-Cuba Joint Consultative Mechanism that concluded on July 29 in South Africa’s capital city of Pretoria, South African Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation E. Ebrahim highlighted that the two countries have agreed to boost cooperation to a new height, especially in economy, trade and investment, in line with their developing political relations over the past 16 years.

Ebrahim stressed that Cuba is one of strategic partners of South Africa in the Caribbean and Latin America and the two nations are implementing specific cooperation programmes in their own strong fields and building long-term cooperative strategies for mutual development./.
